Men’s Soccer Plays to 1-1 2 OT Draw in Queens (NY)

QUEENS, N.Y.  – The Michael Benn era as coach of West Chester University men's soccer began Saturday afternoon with a 1-1 two overtime draw against Queens (NY).
 
Conor Malarney sent home a cross from Miguel Ross as West Chester (0-0-1) scored the games' first goal just 8:44 into the first half. Queens (0-1-1) scored with less than five minutes remaining in the half, to tie the game.

The Golden Rams played a man short for the final 11 minutes of regulation time and the two overtimes. 
 
Phil Horan made his debut in goal for West Chester and recorded four saves including a game saver near the end of regulation on a shot targeted for the far post. Queens (NY) net minder Sean Geoghegan was able to keep three West Chester shots out of the goal, including a chance from Tommy Ryan late in the first overtime.

The Golden Rams open their home slate against Caldwell College on the new turf at the South Campus Soccer Complex Monday afternoon at 4:00 PM.
