KUTZTOWN Pa. –Ashley Saylor opened the scoring, and West Chester led 1-0 at half, but the 7
th ranked Golden Rams gave up three consecutive to start the second half, and fell 3-2 at PSAC rival Kutztown.
Dana Hunt lofted a pass 10 feet in front of the goal, and Saylor was able finish, to give West Chester (1-1), (1-1 PSAC), a one nil lead at 10:14 of the first half. Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference foe Kutztown (1-1) (1-1 PSAC), did not register a shot at goal until the 43
rd minute.
The second half was a completely different story!
Alaina Curry knocked in a rebound after an
Alex Srolis save, and the game was tied at one in the 66
th minute. Less than five minutes later The Golden Bears took the lead on a shot from Sam Costello from 25 yards out.
With the game winding down and the Golden Rams putting pressure on the Kutztown goal, Curry countered and headed in a pass from Costello at 88:06, to make the score 3-1.
Cara Deola was able to get beyond the Golden Bears defense and score on a breakaway in the 90
th minute, but it was too little too late for West Chester.
Srolis finished with 1 save, and Kutztown keeper Alina Rakiewicz, made 3 stops.
The Goldan Rams will next be in action on Friday at home at the South Campus Field against Mercyhurst at 12 PM, and right back at it again when Gannon visits on Saturday at 12PM.
