WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Tony Deimler (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) scored a three-set win over his opponent at second singles to clinch a 5-4 win for West Chester over visiting Saint Thomas Aquinas College Wednesday afternoon on South Campus.
West Chester (1-0) opened up its dual match schedule in dramatic fashion with Deimler's big win. The Golden Rams captured fourth, fifth and sixth singles as well for the come-from-behind win. West Chester trailed, 2-1, coming out of the doubles competition.
Michael Seligman (Marlton, N.J./Hammonton) was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at fourth singles,
Lars Kristiansen (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solesbury) was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at fifth singles while
Chaz Irwin (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at sixth singles. Irwin teamed up with
Andrew Peterson (Bel Air, Md./Milton Wright) for an 8-2 win at third doubles, accounting for the Rams' other victory.
The Golden Rams travel to Chestnut Hill on Oct. 10 for its next fall match.
