West Chester Men Drop Non-League Match With Chestnut Hill, 8-1

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Chaz Irwin picked up a win at sixth singles, but visiting West Chester University dropped an 8-1 decision to host Chestnut Hill College in a non-league men's tennis match Friday afternoon.

West Chester (1-1) got a 6-4 win from Irwin. However, it was the lone victory for the Golden Rams on Friday. Lucas van der Heyde and Lars Kristiansen each stretched their matches to three sets at third and fifth singles, respectively, before eventually falling.

West Chester's match against Roberts Weseleyan on Saturday has already been cancelled due to the impending weather forecast. The two schools will try to make up that match in the spring. The Golden Rams will be back in action on Monday at 3 p.m. when they travel to Philadelphia University.
