Men's Swimming & Diving Conclude Tri-Meet Sweep with Seven First Place Finishes

New Haven, Pa. -  Leaving where they left off, the West Chester Golden Ram swam away with a Tri-meet sweep over the Southern Connecticut State Owls (248- 84) and hometown Shippensburg Red Raiders (267-65) for the third straight year.

The Golden Rams captured seven first and second place finishes as their large lead from day one would grow throughout the day.
 
Dan Sokman (Russia / RSHU) led the way literally, as he was the first one to jump into the pool for the Golden Rams capturing first place in the 200 Medley with the help of teammates Bogdan Grebenyuk (Wrightstown, Pa. / Council Rock North),Thomas McCormick (West Chester, Pa / Henderson), and Luke Maguire (Conshohocken, PA / LaSalle).
 
Sokman also grabbed a second first place finish setting the pace in the 400 Free, followed by Evan Sherkness (Plymouth Meeting, Pa / Plymouth Whitemarch), Victor Polyakov (Toganrog, Russia / Russia) and Jared Haley (Dillsburg, Pa. / Northern York) to conclude the sweep for the Golden Rams.
 
Adding to the point the total, Sherkness (50 Free), Grebenyuk (200 breast), Polyakov(200 free), McGuire (100 fly) , and McCormick (200 IM) each took home a first place finish in their individual competitions as well.
 
Oliver contributed in taking home second in both the 200 breast and 200 IM, while Eric Long (Greensburg, PA / Hempfield) fished second in the 100 fly.
 
The Golden Rams will now have two weeks to practice before they go off to take on Lehigh on October 24th at 5 p.m.
