Julia O'Brien (Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) registered 18 kills, and
Victoria Cruciani (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) posted 10 to lead West Chester to a 3-2 victory over Georgian Court on the road in a non-conference women's volleyball match Tuesday evening.
West Chester (16-10) captured the fourth and fifth sets to fight back from behind and defeat Georgian Court (13-12) by scores of 25-16, 23-25, 29-31, 25-22 and 15-8.
Mandy Flynn (Pittsburgh, Pa./South Fayette) posted a season-high 31 assists, serving as the team's main setter in the match.
Callie Krajcir (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and
Lyndsey Iacobelli (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) each recorded a team-best 14 digs. Flynn finished off a double-double by getting 11 digs in. O'Brien's double-double came in the form of kills and blocks as the senior in the middle registered a career-high 10 blocks. Cruciani posted eight blocks to go along with her 10 kills.
West Chester posted a season-best 19 blocks in the contest as Georgian Court hit just .098.
The Golden Rams return to action this weekend when they travel to Shippensburg and Millersville on Friday and Saturday for pivotal PSAC contests.
