Mike Doty (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) caught seven passes for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the ninth-ranked West Chester Golden Rams (6-0, 5-0 PSAC) to a 29-7 victory over host Kutztown (3-3, 3-2) Thursday night.

Quarterback Sean McCartney (Doylestown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) went 26-for-42 for 303 yards and the two scores to Doty. Defensive back
Al-Hajj Shabazz (Philadelphia, Pa./Bartram) returned an interception 20 yards for West Chester's first score. Running back
Brandon Monk (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) rushed for 129 yards on 21 carries.

Rich Bruno (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) kicked a 35-yard field goal and Shabazz returned his INT for a touchdown in the first quarter. Bruno's PAT following Shabazz's score was no good as West Chester opened up a 9-0 lead after 15 minutes. Bruno kicked a 32-yard field goal, and Doty caught a 17-yard TD pass right before halftime to give the Golden Rams a 19-0 lead.

Doty caught a 13-yard TD pass at the end of the third quarter, and Bruno kicked a 21-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to stake West Chester to its largest lead of the night, 29-0. Kutztown added a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to avert the shutout.

West Chester held a 460-224 edge in total yards of offense. The Golden Rams' defense held Kutztown to just 3 for 12 on third downs and sacked quarterback Chad Barton five times while picking him off twice. The Rams scored 13 points off Kutztown turnovers.

Shaquil Ryder (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep) registered a career-high 10 tackles, recovered a fumble and posted one sack to lead the defensive effort.
Mike Labor (Havertown, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) had eight tackles on the night.

West Chester returns home next Saturday for Homecoming Weekend when the Shippensburg Raiders come calling to John A. Farrell Stadium for a 2 p.m. kickoff.

NOTES: West Chester remains unbeaten on the season and in first place in the PSAC Eastern Division … with the win, West Chester has won the last three meetings with the Golden Bears and now leads the overall series against Kutztown 49-9-1 … the win was also the 595th win all-time in West Chester football history … QB Sean McCartney has now thrown 20 TD passes on the season … he also becomes the fifth passer in school history to throw for more than 7,000 yards and 70 TDs … McCartney also eclipsed 300 yards passing for the third straight week .. RB Brandon Monk rushed for 129 yards on 21 carries marking the second straight week, and third time in the last four weeks, that he has rushed for over 100 yards in a game … WR Mike Doty caught a career-high 7 passes for another career-best 107 yards and a career-most two touchdowns …  DL Shaquil Ryder registered a career-high 10 tackles.
