Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester finished off the regular season in style with a 2-1 win over PSAC rival Slippery Rock at Rockwell Field Saturday.
After a scoreless first half,
Carly Yost (North Wales, Pa. / North Penn) started off the second half with her seventh goal of the year with an assist by
Marissa Valenti (Manassas, Va. / Osbourn Park) to put the Golden Rams in front, 1-0.
Then, Slippery Rock's Lesilie Henny answered with a goal of her own to tie the game up at 1-1.
Suddenly in the 77 minute,
Maddy Beretti (Flemington, N.J. / Hunterdon Central) rebounded the ball off the goalie to score the game-winning goal to give the Golden Rams a 2-1 win.
Goalkeeper
Alex Srolis (Chester Springs, Pa. / Downingtown East) played all 90 mintues and made four key to end the regular season with 15-1-1 personal record.
West Chester secured the second seed in the PSAC tournament with the win and will take on seventh-seeded Indiana (Pa.) in the first round at Rockwell Field on Tuesday (Nov. 4). Time to be determined.
