BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – J.J. Cooke registered a 6-4, 6-4 straight-set win at sixth singles to lift visiting West Chester University to a 5-4 win over host Bloomsburg in a PSAC men's tennis match Tuesday afternoon.
West Chester (4-6, 1-0 PSAC) put an end to its four-match losing streak and exorcized the deamons from a disappointing 5-4 loss to USciences at home on Monday. Bloomsburg (1-7, 0-3) was coming off its first win of the season.
Jared Howatt picked up his first win at No. 1 singles in a West Chester uniform with a 6-4, 6-3 victory in the top spot. Lars Kristiansen was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at fourth singles for the Golden Rams' third singles victory.
West Chester took a 2-1 lead after the doubles competition. Howatt and Leimback were winners at first doubles while Kristiansen and Aridas were winners at third doubles.
