Box ScoreWEST CHESTER, Pa. – Jared Howatt scored victories in both the first singles and first doubles to lead West Chester University men's tennis to a 8-1 win over PSAC rival Millersville and clinch a spot in the PSAC Tournament on a sunny Wednesday afternoon at the South Campus Tennis Courts.
The Golden Rams (5-9, 2-3 PSAC) finished fourth in the conference and will face the top-seeded Kuztown (11-2, 5-0 PSAC) next Thursday in the semifinal round of the PSAC Championships that will be held at the South Campus Courts. The Golden Bears scored a 6-3 home win over West Chester on Wednesday. The winner will compete for the championship against the survivor of the match between the second-seeded Edinboro and the third-seeded Mercyhurst with the finals to take place on Friday.

Cody Leimback were victorious in first doubles 8-4 to give West Chester its first point of the afternoon. The third singles team of
Lars Kristiansen and
Ryan Learn picked up a point for West Chester with an 8-6 win.
West Chester held a 2-1 advantage going into the singles competition and swept all six single matches without relinquishing a set.
Leimback made quick work of his opponent in fifth single to make a 3-1 match with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph. Kristiansen was next to the victory circle with a 6-2, 6-2 win in fourth and
Chaz Irwin punched the teams ticket to the playoffs by scoring a 6-4, 6-1 triumph in the third slot.
West Chester also received victories from Howatt in the number one spot 7-5 and 6-3,
Connor Dunn in the second hole 7-6 (4), 6-2, and
J.J. Cooke, who was a 7-5, 6-0 winner at sixth singles.
The Golden Rams travel to Bloomfield, N.J. for a non-conference match on Friday at 3 p.m. with Bloomfield College
