No. 23 West Chester Shuts Out Mansfield, 4-0

Box Score

MANSFIELD, Pa. – Four different goal scorers lifted visiting West Chester University to a 4-0 victory over host Mansfield University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's soccer match Wednesday afternoon.

West Chester (3-0), which jumped into the national rankings this week, upped its season opening winning streak to three games with the win over Mansfield (0-3). The Golden Rams have not allowed a goal this season against PSAC opposition having shutout Kutztown, 2-0, on Saturday. Both games, incidentally, were on the road.

Kara Parvel (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) scored her first college goal four minutes before halftime to break a scoreless tie, and the Golden Rams then exploded for three more tallies in the second half to put the game out of reach.

Dana Hunt (Pittstown, N.J./Delaware Valley Central) and Carly Yost (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) scored one minute apart in the 53rd and 54th minutes to triple the visitor's advantage. For Yost, it was her team-leading second goal of the season. Lexi Brown (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) closed out the scoring in the 76th minute.

Alex Srolis (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) (3-0) started and played the first 84 minutes, registering a pair of saves. Camilla Greeby (Perkiomenville, Pa./Boyertown) finished up the final six minutes and did not face a shot. The two keepers shared the shutout.

West Chester returns home on Saturday to Rockwell Field for a 1 p.m. conference clash with Edinboro University.
