East Stroudsburg Tops West Chester, 98-72

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Sr., F Cory Blake (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) matched a season-high with a 25-point effort, but the Golden Rams fell to East Stroudsburg, 98-72, inside Koehler Field House Saturday afternoon.
 
West Chester (7-11, 5-7 PSAC) was down one early in the first half, after a bucket by Tyrell Long (Philadelphia, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) with a lot of time still to go in the game. They were neck-and-neck with the Warriors for awhile – down by two after a 3-point basket by Long – but, East Stroudsburg responded with a 10-0 run and eventually would push the lead to 15 going into the half.
 
ESU (11-5, 6-3 PSAC) created 20 turnovers, 14 in the first half, and turned them into 22 points to create a comfortable lead. The Golden Rams would have chances early for points, but could not make the Warriors pay at the free-throw line in the first half, shooting 10-for-23, ending the game with a 50-percent efficiency from the charity stripe. 
 
The Warriors took the advantage and were off to the races out of the break, stretching their lead to 26 points after a 17-6 run (66-40). They would later reach their largest lead of the night at 29 in the last minute of the game.
 
Ben Mingledough (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds in the loss. Matt Wiseley (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds, nine at the defensive end of the floor.
 
East Stroudsburg put four players in double figures. Sr., G Wes Grant led all scorers with 27 points. Rasheed Moore added 17 points and nine rebounds. Jamal Nwaniemeka provide 14 points in the high-scoring affair. Matt Tobin finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and providing 11 assists.
 
The Golden Rams will look to rebound  Wednesday night as they welcome PSAC East rival Cheyney to Hollinger Field House at 5:30 p.m.
