Sicinski and Steele-Hook Put Up Double-Doubles; WCU Hangs On Down Stretch For 69-63 Win Over ESU

Box Score

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - Brittany Sicinski (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) and Chikisha Steele-Hook (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Twp.) each registered a double-double as visiting West Chester defeated host East Stroudsburg, 69-63, in a PSAC women's basketball contest inside Koehler Field House Saturday afternoon. Sicinski finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Steele-Hook posted 17 points and 14 boards.

West Chester (13-3, 9-3 PSAC) has won three of its last four while East Stroudsburg (6-10, 5-7) dropped its first game under interim head coach Lynn Ramage.

The Golden Rams held a 10-point advantage with 2:15 left in the game when the Warriors mounted one last gasp attempt to come back. East Stroudsburg eventually cut the deficit to four with :55 ticks left on a bucket from Allison Howard. However, Dallas Ely (Montrose, Pa./Montrose) (11 points) made three of four foul shots down the stretch, and Mariah Powell (Glen Mills, Pa./Rustin) scored the last of her 12 points, tying a season high, to salt away the contest.

Sicinski's 21 points paced all scorers in the contest. She now has 967 career points as the junior guard closes in on 1,000. Her 10 rebounds Saturday were one shy of her career best established last season.

West Chester put four players in double figures in the win.

The Golden Rams return to Hollinger Field House next Wednesday evening for a 7:30 p.m. tip against cross-county rival Cheyney University. That game will follow the men's game at 5:30 p.m.
