Oklahoma Baptist Tops West Chester In Dual Meet, 56-30

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Junior Victor Polyakov (Taganrog, Russia) won three events, but it was not enough to stop visiting Oklahoma Baptist to a 56-30 victory over West Chester University Friday evening at Graham Natatorium.
 
Polyakov won the 100-yard freestyle, 200 free and the 500 free to record the only three wins in the meet's eight events. Polyakov posted a winning time of 4 minutes, 42.43 seconds in the 500 free while teammate Conor Forlini registered a time of 4:47.76 to come in second.
 
Polyakov's 1:41.48 was the winning time in the 200 free while his time of 46.78 seconds in the 100 was also a winner. Evan Sherkness (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) was runner-up in the 50 free with a time of 21.08 seconds. Thomas McCormick (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) and Michael Oliver (Howell, N.J./Freehold Twp.) swam second and third in the 100 individual medley. McCormick touched the wall in 52.90 seconds while Oliver recorded a time of 54.19.
 
West Chester returns to the waters at Graham Natatorium next Friday for a tri-meet with Bloomsburg and Division I Lehigh University.
