Dallas Ely (Montrose, Pa. / Montrose) finished up with a team-high 14 points down the stretch, but it was too late as Lincoln would complete the upset victory over No. 25 West Chester 64-54 to conclude the first day of the Carol Eckman Classic inside Hollinger Field House.
The Golden Rams (0-1) struggled from the field shooting 23.9% for the entire game. Lincoln (1-0) took advantage of their offensive opportunities out-scoring WCU 28-12 within the paint.
Ely led off the game with a 3-pointer and was limited to zero for the rest of the first half. She would score 11 of her 14 points coming out of the break.
Sophomore
Porscha Speller (Lancaster, Pa. / Lancaster Catholic) contributed with eight points, while forwards
Anna Kuntz (Camp Hill, Pa. / Trinity) and
Chikisha Steele-Hook (Harrisburg, Pa. / Susquehanna Twp.) combined for 12 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.
Lions' Courtney Smith scored game-high 19 points, to go with five rebound and two assists. Teammate Monique Cheek added 12 points to help keep the pressure on West Chester's offense.
West Chester will try to rebound as they take on Central State University to conclude the 30th annual Carol Eckman Classic tomorrow at 4 p.m.
