SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - West Chester University's women's volleyball squad earned the No. 3 seed in the 2015 PSAC Tournament and will open play Tuesday evening at No. 2-seeded Shippensburg inside Heiges Field House at 7 p.m.
The winner will advance to the conference semifinals, which will be played at the site of the highest remaining seed in the Eastern Division. Those semifinal matches will take place on Friday, Nov. 20. The PSAC Championship Game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the same site.
The Golden Rams, ranked 10th in the latest NCAA Atlantic Region poll, finished in a tie for third place in the regular-season standings with Lock Haven. However, West Chester won the tie-breaking procedure by virtue of its three-set sweep over the Lady Eagles on Saturday. It was a good thing that match was a sweep, too, because had Lock Haven taken just one set from the Rams, then the tie-breaker would have swung in their favor, and West Chester would be headed to Pitt-Johnstown on Tuesday.
Be that as it may, West Chester and Shippensburg split its regular-season matches this year with each winning on the other's home court.
A win by the Golden Rams on Tuesday, coupled with a win by Lock Haven on the road over Pitt-Johnstown, would bring the PSAC Championships to Hollinger Field House for the first time.
