West Chester Scores Victory Over Edinboro Off 26 Bench Points, 80-68

Box Score West Chester, Pa. –  Sr., F Kendall Benovy (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey) recorded a season-high 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead West Chester over Ediboro 80-68 inside Hollinger Field House Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Rams (5-4, 3-2 PSAC) rebounded from a seven-point loss to Slippery Rock, finishing with six players in double figures. Edinboro (8-3, 4-2 PSAC) led by four out of the first quarter, but could not hang on as the defense would allow West Chester's bench to outscore them 10-0 in the second quarter.

It was Benovy's second straight game with a double-double and second of the season. Sophomore Camden Boehner (Gettysburg, Pa. / Gettysburg) scored a season-high 13 points for her first game finishing in double-figure scoring as a Golden Ram. Forward Mariah Powell (Glen Mills, Pa. / Rustin) provided instant offense off the bench for WCU for 13 points as well.

Anna Kuntz (Camp Hill, Pa. / Trinity) added 12 points, seven rebounds, and two steal to the victory, which teammate Dallas Ely (Montrose, Pa. / Montrose) registered 11 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and two steals to help the Golden Rams get back in the win column. Brittany Sicinki (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West) rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points, five in each half. She also had a team-high eight assists and two blocks in the victory.

West Chester after being down four points in the first quarter, went on a 17-0 run for seven minutes of the second quarter to lead by double-digits (10) off of four turnovers by the Fighting Scots. The Golden Rams would go up by 13 to lead at the half and would not trail again for the rest of the game.

Fighting Scots' Katie Fischer went for a game-high 26 points (11-for-18), 17 points alone in the first half.  Forward Aignee' Freeland registered 18 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double, while Lauren Hippo added 15 points and five assists in the loss.
 
West Chester will be back on the court on December 13th for a meeting in Philadelphia with the Philadelphia University Lions with the time still to be determined.
