West Chester Men Top Cheyney, 81-73

CHEYNEY, Pa. – West Chester finished with five players scoring in double figures to lift the Golden Rams down the stretch over Cheyney, 81-73 inside Cope Hall Sunday afternoon.

The Golden Rams (15-12, 13-8 PSAC)  would gain the upper hand throughout the game by converting second chance opportunities for 18 points, while limiting the Wolves to only one bucket on second chance attempts. Cheyney (2-24, 1-20 PSAC) eventually would go up by one with 7:14 left to go in the game, but a 9-0 lead by the Golden Rams extended the lead and shutdown the Wolves from the completing the comeback, claiming the win in the final minutes.

Sr, G Cory Blake (West Chester, Pa. / Rustin) scored a team-high 14 points, including 9-for-11 from the free throw line, to go with six rebounds and two steals in the win. Mike Wilson (Philadelphia, Pa. / Martin Luther King) followed with 12 points, seven rebounds, and two steals, while Raheem Hall ( Ardmore, Pa. / Lower Merion) also chipped in with 12 points, shooting 5-for-7 from the field.

Parrish Grant (Philadelphia, Pa. / Imhotep Charter) added 11 points from a 3-for-3 from the field with two three pointers. Thomas White (Chester, Pa. / Penn Wood) rounded the double-figure scoring out with 10 points down in the low post.

Teammate Avery Brown (Mt. Laurel, NJ / Lenape) contributed with eight points and nine rebounds and Matt Wiseley (Emmaus, Pa. / Emmaus) grabbed a season-high 16 rebounds, 13 on the defensive end, to go with seven assists, six points, two blocks, and two steals.

Wolves' Mike Drinks led with a game-high 20 points, shooting 7-for-13 from the field. Rafiq Marshall recorded 17 points off the bench. Khalil Meadows chipped in with 12 points, while teammate Charles Ayetigbo finished with 11 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks.

West Chester will now head home to conclude the regular season with a matchup against Mansfield as a part of Senior Night where we will honor our two seniors Blake and Eric Frans (Lehigh, Pa. / Saucon Valley).
