TAMPA, Fla. - West Chester dropped a 7-2 men's tennis decision to Catawba (N.C.) Wednesday afternoon in a non-league match at University of South Florida.
West Chester (3-4) received wins from Charlie Rushing at second singles and Tony Deimler at fourth singles for its two points. Rushing dispatched his opponent, after dropping the opening set 7-5. He rallied for a 6-4 win in the second and an 11-9 tie-breaker format win in the third set. Deimler captured his match, 8-4, in tie-breaker fashion because the match had already been decided.
West Chester takes on Eckerd College Thursday.
