WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Troy Donato was a 7-6 (5), 6-4 winner at sixth singles to lead host West Chester to a 6-3 victory over visiting Bloomsburg Friday afternoon.

West Chester (5-7, 1-2 PSAC) notched its first conference win.

The Golden Rams opened by sweeping doubles play and taking a 3-0 lead into the singles portion of the match. Bloomsburg fought back with wins at first and third singles to pull within one, 3-2. However, Tony Deimler picked up a 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 win at fourth singles, before Donato salted away the contest with his clincher.

Lucas van der Heyde was a three-set winner at fifth singles, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3, for West Chester's other triumph.

Jared Howatt and Deimler teamed up at first doubles for an 8-6 win while Charlie Rushing and Lars Kristiansen were 9-7 winners at second doubles. Van der Heyde and Donato were 9-7 winners at third doubles.

West Chester welcomes Kutztown to South Campus on Sunday for another PSAC tilt at 1 p.m.
