Box Score 2 CALIFORNIA, Pa. – West Chester University volleyball lost a pair of matches 3 sets to 1 to finish 0-4 on its PSAC western crossover inside Hammer Hall Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Rams (11-4, 0-4 PSAC) captured the first set 25-20 in the second match against Indiana, Pa., but after squaring the match with a 25-16 second set victory, the
Crimson Hawks (11-3, 4-0 PSAC) won two tight sets (26-24, 25-23) to end the weekend a perfect 4-0.
In the first match senior
Molly Grammar (Center Valley, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) led the Golden Rams with 21 kills and her sister Jillian Grammar
(Center Valley, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) registered 41 assists, but West Chester fell to host California, Pa. (25-15, 23-25, 25-18, 25-17).
Marina Sharkey (Newtown Square, Pa. / Archbishop John Carroll) added 10 kills and
Nikki Yates (Coopersburg, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) paced the Golden Rams with 22 digs while
Bethany Gould (Camp Hill, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) had 12 digs.
Against IUP, Molly Grammar led West Chester with 16 kills, Jillian Grammar had a team high 31 assists with 13 digs. Yates topped the Golden Rams with 14 digs and Gould once again reached double digits with 12.
The Golden Rams return to action on Thursday Oct. 1 when it travels to Wilmington, Delaware for a non-league match with Goldey-Beacom.
