Volleyball Sweeps Pair Of Opponents To Claim Ram Fest Title

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester swept both Goldey-Beacom College and Holy Family University to finish its very own Ram Fest Tournament unbeaten at 4-0 Saturday afternoon inside Hollinger Field House.
 
The season-opening tournament keeps the Golden Rams (4-0) undefeated on the season while also remaining unbeaten in any of the 12 sets to date. West Chester downed Goldey-Beacom by scores of 25-13, 25-13 and 25-8, before knocking off Holy Family 25-15, 25-19 and 25-15.
 
Senior Molly Grammer (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) paced the attack once again with 8 and 13 kills, respectively, in the two matches. Freshman Allie Duffy (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) had six kills and hit .625 against Goldey-Beacom in the opener. Senior Marina Sharkey (Newtown Square, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) posted eight kills in the win over Holy Family.
 
Freshman Nicki Yates (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) registered 15 digs against Goldey-Beacom and 12 more against Holy Family, defensively. Callie Krajcir (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) added a team-high 14 digs against Holy Family in the ninth and final volleyball match of the two-day tournament.
 
Sophomore Victoria Cruciani (Phoenixville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) added four blocks in the win over Holy Family. Cruciani and Duffy each had three more blocks against Goldey-Beacom in the first match on Saturday morning.
 
West Chester continues its brief homestand to open the season on Wednesday when another Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent, University of Sciences, comes to Hollinger Field House for a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
