West Chester Volleyball Passes First Road Test, 3-0, At Holy Family

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Molly Grammer (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) registered a team-best nine kills while three other Golden Rams each posted seven themselves to lead visiting West Chester to a 3-0 win over host Holy Family Tuesday night at the Campus Center.
 
West Chester (5-0) took the match in three straight sets by the measure of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-13. The Rams have yet to drop a set during its season-opening five-match win streak. It marked the second win over Holy Family (1-3) in four days.
 
Victoria Cruciani (Phoenixville, Pa./Pope John Paul II), Marina Sharkey (Newtown Square, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) and Allie Duffy (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) each had seven kills apiece for West Chester, which hit .316 for the match as a team.
 
Jillian Grammer (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) posted 29 assists in the match. Nicki Yates (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) recorded 12 digs while Callie Krajcir (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) added eight. Cruciani, Duffy and Samantha Agostini (Broomall, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) each were credited with three blocks.
 
The five-match win streak to open the season is the second straight year in which West Chester has won its first five matches. Three of those wins have come against schools in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with another CACC opponent set to invade Hollinger on Wednesday.
 
West Chester returns home Wednesday night to take on University of the Sciences at 7 p.m. inside Hollinger Field House.
