SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Karleigh Lutz (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) led West Chester with 16 kills, but host Shippensburg emerged victorious, 3-2, in a tight women's volleyball match Friday night inside Heiges Fieldhouse.
West Chester (15-6, 3-5 PSAC) pushed Shippensburg (17-3, 6-2) to the limit, after dropping the first two sets, but could not get over the hump on the road, dropping the match by scores of 27-25, 25-20, 20-25, 22-25 and 15-12.
Victoria Cruciani (Phoenixville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) and
Abbie Dischert (Wilmington, Del./Concord) each contributed 12 kills as well.
Jillian Grammer (Centre Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) posted another double-double with 46 assists and 18 digs.
Nicki Yates (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) led the Golden Rams with 22 digs.
West Chester travels to Millersville on Saturday for another PSAC encounter.
