WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - West Chester put three players over 20 points, but the top-ranked team in the nation was too much on its home floor as West Liberty topped the Golden Rams, 117-91, Saturday night in the final game of the West Liberty Tip-Off Classic.
West Chester (0-2) got 23 points from
Malik Jackson (Lansdowne, Pa./Penn Wood) and 22 from
Zach Bare (St. Paul's School [Md.]) while
Matt Penecale (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) put up 20.
Mike Jolaoso (Philadelphia, Pa./Episcopal Academy) also scored 12 in the loss.
Jackson and Bare put up their numbers off the bench as West Chester's reserves accounted for 63 of the team's 91 points. West Chester was 11-for-28 from beyond the 3-point arc.
West Chester heads home next Saturday and Sunday to take on Gannon and Clarion in a pair of PSAC contests inside Hollinger Field House.
