Malik Jackson (Lansdowne, Pa./Penn Wood) scored a team-high 22 points, but it was not enough as No. 17 West Chester fell to Kutztown, 81-77, in the regular-season finale inside Keystone Arena Wednesday evening.

West Chester (21-5, 17-5 PSAC) finishes the regular season in second place and receives a first-round bye in the upcoming PSAC Tournament. Kutztown (21-5, 18-4) wins the PSAC Eastern Division as a result of the winner-take-all finale. The Golden Rams will play the winner of will host the winner of Lock Haven at East Stroudsburg on Tuesday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Hollinger Field House.

West Chester got to within four points in the final two minutes of the game, after trailing by somewhere close to 10 points for much of the second hal, and again in the final 10 seconds, but could not complete its comeback bid. Kutztown was able to hold on and keep the Golden Rams at bay down the stretch by hitting its foul shots.

Matt Penecale (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) finished with 18 points while
Matt Wiseley (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Tickets to the PSAC Tournament second-round games at West Chester will be $7 for adults and $2 for students. Students from PSAC member institutions will be admitted free of charge with a valid ID.
