WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Tyrell Long (Philadelphia, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) scored a career-high 26 points, and
Zach Bare (Reiserstown, Md./St. Paul's) added 24 as host West Chester defeated visiting Cheyney, 93-74, inside Hollinger Field House Saturday afternoon.

West Chester (7-9, 5-6 PSAC) remains in a tie for fourth place with Bloomsburg after Saturday's results. Cheyney falls to 1-14 overall and 1-10 in conference play. Bloomsburg and West Chester were part of a five-way tie for first place at the beginning of the day. However, Mansfield, Lock Haven and Millersville all lost and fell into a tie for fifth.

The Golden Rams closed out the game on a 25-9 run that turned a three-point game into a 19-point win.
Ryan Skovranko (Pittsburgh, Pa./Lincoln Park) and
Dashon Giddings (Philadelphia, Pa./Del Valley Charter) each hit 3-pointers during a 9-0 spurt to open the decisive run. West Chester would end the run hitting all four of its free throws that highlighted a 9-2 finish to the game.

Giddings and
Matt Penecale (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) each finished with 11 points as West Chester put four players in double figures in the scoring column. Penecale equaled his season-high with nine assists and had a season-best four steals to go with a pair of blocked shots.

Long contributed nine rebounds and six assists to his 26 points.

Cheyney was led by Imir Bailey's 17 points off the bench. Mike Mohamed added 13 and Rafiq Marshall 12.
