WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The West Chester University men's swimming team dropped a non-league meet against University of Pennsylvania 163-129, inside the Graham Natatorium Friday night.

A total of six swimmers logged personal best times in the loss to Division I Penn. The final regular-season meet of the season also marked Senior Day for the swim team as the Golden Rams bid adieu to its five graduating seniors (Michael Oliver, Victor Polyakov, Geoffrey Boodey, Nate Smith and Eric Long).

Senior
Michael Oliver (Howell, N.J./Freehold) led the push for the Golden Rams as he took first place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2 minutes, 1.56 seconds. He also added a first-place finish in the 400 individual medley ( 4:03.17). Fellow senior
Victor Polyakov (Taganrog, Russia) had a very impressive performance by winning the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:34.52, about five seconds ahead of his competitors in that event.

The Golden Rams took first and second in the 200 free relay. The "A" team consisted of senior
Nate Smith (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Twp.), sophomore
Trey Shackleton, and a pair of juniors in
Shota Nakano and
Evan Sherkness (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) as they finished with a time of 1:25.68.

The "B" finished with a time of 1:29.83 as freshman
Timmy Tomsuden (Marriotsville, Md./Liberty) led his team followed by
Sean White (Valrico, Fla./Durant), Ben Francis (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and senior
Eric Long (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield). Long finished with a time of 1:53.10 and freshman Tomsuden clocked a time of 1:54.97 as they took second and third, respectively, in the 200 butterfly.

Dan Roy (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) and sophomore
Luke Kisiel (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) dominated the 3-meter diving event Friday night

Some of the notable finishes consisted of the "A" team's 200 medley relay as they took second with a time of 1:32.69. The team consisted of Polyakov leading the start, junior
Thomas McCormick (West Chester, Pa./Henderson), Oliver, and Sherkness.

Polyakov also had a runner-up performance in the 200 free, finishing up the event with a time of 1:39.32.

The PSAC Championships will take place at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa., from Feb. 16-19.
