Zaso Scores Twice Propels West Chester to 2-0 Victory

WEST CHESTER, Pa- Jr. F. Nikki Zaso(Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) provided the offense on Wednesday afternoon as she powered the West Chester University women's soccer team(11-2-1, 11-2-0 PSAC) to a 2-0 victory over the visiting Shippensburg University Raiders (5-10-1, 4-10-0 PSAC).
How it Happened:
  • West Chester broke through just five minutes into the contest when Zaso took a shot from the upper right corner of the box over the goalkeepers head to give West Chester an early 1-0 lead.
  • West Chester would continue to threaten for the remainder of the first half as Shippensburg goalie Delaney Shifflet made two nice saves in the first half to keep the score at 1-0.
  • The second half was much of the same as the Golden Rams continued to outshoot Shippensburg and the Golden Rams finally saw this payoff in the 86th minute when Zaso scored her second of the day off a deflection to give West Chester the decisive 2-0 lead.
Inside the Numbers:
