Bloomsburg, Pa.-Kaitlin Hatch (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) continued her hot streak this afternoon as she scored two goals leading West Chester(11-6, 5-4 PSAC) to a crucial 3-1 victory over PSAC rival Bloomsburg (9-8, 5-4 PSAC) on Wednesday afternoon. This victory also allowed West Chester to clinch a spot in the PSAC postseason tournament which will get underway on Tuesday October 31st.
How it Happened:
- Hatch opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when she took an assist from Kelsey Munster (Lancaster,Pa./Hempfield) to put West Chester out in front 1-0.
- Bloomsburg answered right back just one minute later when Erica Krebs used an assist from Emily Alker to tie the game at 1 heading to the half.
- Just one minute into the second half Katie Thompson(Washington,N.J./Warren Hills) notched a goal of her own off an assist from Mackenzie Mlkvy(Berlin, N.J./Eastern) giving West Chester the 2-1 lead early in the second half.
- Hatch was not done as she added another goal in the 61st minute to stake West Chester to 3-1 lead late in the contest.
- Marissa Elizardo (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) worked hard in goal making two saves over her 70 minutes of work to hold off the Bloomsburg offense.
Inside the Numbers:
- West Chester held a 21-5 advantage in shots and 9-3 advantage in shots on goal.
- West Chester also had 10-4 lead in penalty corners on the afternoon.
- Over the last four contests Hatch has scored seven goals and recorded three assists for a total of 17 points overall.
