WEST CHESTER, Pa.-The West Chester men's soccer team (13-2-1, 11-0-0 PSAC) hosted Seton Hill (8-9-1, 5-5-0 PSAC) on Saturday afternoon on senior day at Rockwell field. Â The Golden Rams used a second half goal to earn the 1-0 victory to finish the season unbeaten in PSAC competition. Â
How it Happened:
- West Chester broke through in the 66th minute when senior Max Adarkwah (Accra, Ghana/Phelps School) scored his first goal of the season off an assist from Stephen Thompson (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) to give West Chester a crucial 1-0 advantage.
- Senior goalie Matt Palmer (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) worked hard and kept Seton Hill off the scoreboard to earn the senior day shutout victory.
Inside the Numbers:
- Palmers shutout victory gave him the most shutouts in team history with 16 surpassing Joe Bocklet (1995-1998) and Sean Gablehouse (1998-2001).
- West Chester outshot Seton Hill by a 19-8 margin including an advantage of 11-6 in shots on goal.
- West Chester finishes the season with their best PSAC record in team history (11-0-0).
