East Stroudsburg Edges WCU in Penalty Kicks

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) semifinal went down to the wire with East Stroudsburg (14-3-1) prevailing in penalty kicks to advance to the final over host West Chester (13-3-1) this afternoon in Rockwell Field.
 
How it Happened

• Both squads played to a scoreless tie after the end of the second overtime with each having opportunities to be victorious in regulation.
• Sr., GK Matt Palmer (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) played all 110 minutes in addition to penalty kicks. Over the course of the match, Palmer produced four saves.
• East Stroudsburg's Will Boerema contributed three saves and 110 minutes as well. However, He was replaced by teammate Steven Robak for penalty kicks.
• Gridlocked at 4-4 in penalty kicks, Robak saved Daniel Grindrod (Neshaminy / Feasterville, PA) shot to force another round. East Stroudsburg's Eddy Enowbi converted the next kick and Robak stopped Stephen Thompson (Mechanicsburg, PA / Cumberland Valley) to advance.

• West Chester led in shots (12-11), but East Stroudsburg was favored in terms of shots on goal (4-3).
• The Warriors managed a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
