WEST CHESTER, Pa. – No. 7 West Chester (13-6) topped Bloomsburg (10-9) in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) tournament quarterfinal this afternoon by a final score of 1-0. The victory inside Vonnie Gros Field means the Golden Rams advance to the semifinals on Friday at Shippensburg.
How it Happened
- So., M Caitlin Kelly (Coatesville, Pa. / Bishop Shanahan) tallied the first goal of the match at the 10:47, giving West Chester an early 1-0 advantage.
- The reverse shot from the top of circle proved to be the game winner for the Golden Rams.
- That lone goal was enough for junior goalkeeper Marissa Elizardo (North Wales, Pa./North Penn), who shutout the Huskies in the quarterfinal.
- Elizardo blanked Bloomsburg, providing three saves in the cage. This was her fourth shutout of the season for the Golden Rams.
