Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

West Chester Tops Bloomsburg in PSAC Quarterfinals, 1-0; Advances to PSAC Semifinals

WEST CHESTER, Pa.-The No. 1 Seeded West Chester women's soccer team(15-2-1) welcomed the No. 8 seed Bloomsburg University Huskies(8-6-3) to Rockwell field for a PSAC quarterfinal matchup. The Golden Rams went on to win by a final score of 1-0.
How it Happened:
  • The first half was quiet throughout as neither side was able to generate much offensive production with just five shots between the two sides in the first 45 minutes of play.
  • Linzi Wolfe(Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) scored the lone goal in the game in the 75th minute when she headed in a beautiful cross from Kaitlyn McNamara(West Nyack, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) to give West Chester the 1-0 lead.
  • Sr. GK Mckenna Mullin(Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) only had to make one save in the victory as her defense stood tall all game long to limit the Huskies opportunities.
Inside the Numbers:
  • West Chester outshot Bloomsburg by a 9-2 margin including a 5-1 advantage in shots on goal.
  • West Chester also held a decisive 12-2 advantage in corner kicks.
  • Wolfe scored her second goal of the year and it was also her second game winner of the season.  McNamara has been credited with the assist on both of these goals.
