WEST CHESTER, Pa. –
Thomas McCormick (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) and
Kohle Kerchner (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg), Austin Doss (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) each were double winners as West Chester University's men's swimming team easily outdistanced the field at the Golden Rams Classic inside the Graham Natatorium Saturday evening.
West Chester amassed 1,348 points to Swarthmore's 828, Ursinus' 765 and Albright's 426.
McCormick won the 400-yard individual medley in 3 minutes, 58.36 seconds as West Chester took the top four spots in that event.
Jarod Anderson (Newville, Pa./Big Spring) was second in 4:04.51, and
Ben Francis (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and
Philip Nawn (Media, Pa./Penncrest) were third and fourth, respectively. McCormick also won the 200 breaststroke in 2:02.66, just edging out Anderson (2:02.89).
Shota Nakano (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) was third. McCormick was also the anchor leg of the 800 free relay that won first place. He was second in the 100 breaststroke.
Kerchner won both the 100 back (:49.75) and the 200 backstroke (1:49.35) while helping the 200 medley relay team to a first-place showing.
Doss touched the wall first in both the 100 free (:46.08) and the 200 free (1:41.49). West Chester claimed the top three spots in the 200 free and the top four spots in the 100 free.
