WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Both
Malik Jackson (Lansdowne, Pa./Penn Wood) and
Jackson Hyland (Avondale, Pa./Kennett) found themselves in double figures this afternoon, scoring 27 points apiece to lead West Chester over visiting East Stroudsburg, 100- 92, inside Hollinger Field House.
West Chester (11-12, 9-9 PSAC) ended the game on a 17-1 run in the second half to push past East Stroudsburg (16-7, 14-4 PSAC). Head coach Damien Blair's squad provided 61 total points in the second half in addition to erasing a 19-point lead by the Warriors.
With 1:39 remaining in the contest, Jackson found freshman
Tim Toro (Scranton, Pa./Abington Heights) on the fast break to take a one-point advantage. Afterwards, Hyland knocked down a three 35 seconds later to help seal the victory for the Golden Rams

West Chester was able to pull out the victory despite East Stroudsburg's 53.8 percentage (14-for-26) from behind the 3-point arc. The Golden Rams posted their second best performance shooting from the field this season at 59.4 percent.
Hyland on the other hand went off in the second half, accounting for 22 points. The sophomore tallied a double-double in the game with 27 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.
Malik Jackson registered 12 of his 27 points in the first half. He also was 5-for-11 on 3-pointers as well as contributing five assists for the Golden Rams.
Three other players found themselves in double figures who contributed to the win. A freshman group of Toro
, Dominic Guerrera (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) and
Zach Bare (Reisterstown, Md./St. Paul's School) all added 10 points for the Golden Rams.
Meanwhile,
Dashon Giddings (Philadelphia, Pa./Delaware Valley Charter) and
Thomas White (Chester, Pa./Penn Wood) produced seven points

The Golden Rams were missing starting point guard Matt Penecale for the fourth straight contest and was also with starting forward Tyrell Long. The team finds itself sitting tied for fourth place in the PSAC East standings with Bloomsburg.
West Chester returns to action next Wednesday as the squad faces PSAC East rival Shippensburg inside Hollinger Field House at 7:30 p.m.
