Men's Tennis Drops Heart-Breaker, 5-4

 

CALDWELL, N.J. – Jr., doubles pair Charlie Rushing (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) and Kylil Curry (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) were victorious in the third doubles match. However, a late comeback allowed Caldwell to top West Chester, 5-4, in a non-league men's tennis match Friday afternoon.

Rushing and Curry teamed up to defeat Caldwell pairs Yuxraj Baines andt Ulysses Farr in the third match, 8-2.

During the singles, West Chester earned three wins. Norman Patten (Warminster, Pa./Council Rock South) opened the singles match with a 6-2, 6-2 win while Rushing earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Curry would later find another win during the sixth singles match with a 7-5, 6-4 victory. Unfortunately, Caldwell took the third, fourth and fifth singles matches to hang on for a 5-4 win.

West Chester will be back in action as it travels to face Saint Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, N.Y. Sunday at 1 p.m.
