ERIE, Pa. - West Chester women's soccer team (3-1-1, 3-1 PSAC) sneaked past host Mercyhurst (0-2-2, 0-2-1 PSAC) in a conference matchup this afternoon, prevailing by a final score of 1-0.
How it Happened:
- In the 36th minute, Linzi Wolfe (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) scored the lone goal of the day off a free kick from teammate Kaitlyn McNamara (West Nyack, N.Y. / Albertus Magnus).
- This is all that West Chester would need to earn the victory as goalkeeper Brooke Myers (Middletown, PA / Middletown Area High School) stood tall in goal making four saves to earn the shutout victory.
Inside the Numbers:
- The Golden Rams outshot their hosts by a 12-10 margin, however, they did trail in the shots on goal category as Mercyhurst held a 4-3 edge in that category.
- West Chester also had five corners on the match compared to none for Mercyhurst.
- Myers made four saves to earn her third shutout victory of the season.
