West Chester Goes On The Road To Defeat Pitt-Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The West Chester University women's soccer team (4-1-1, 4-1 PSAC) took to the road on Friday afternoon to face off against PSAC opponent Pitt-Johnstown(1-6-1, 1-5-1 PSAC). The Golden Rams would come out on top by a final score of 2-0.

How it Happened:
  • Jenny Bail(Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) broke through first for West Chester in the 36th minute when she converted a great cross into the box from Jade Burns(Baltimore, Md./Kenwood) to give West Chester the 1-0 lead.
  • The Golden Rams would break through again 20 minutes later in the 56th minute when Lauren Pittman(Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) took a cross from Hannah Zach(Bucks County, Pa./Central Bucks East) to move the score to 2-0.
  • Sophomore goalie Brooke Myers(Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) had a quiet day as she did not have to make a single save in her 69 minutes of work to earn the victory. McKenna Mullin(Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) played the final 21 minutes to wrap up the victory for West Chester.
Inside the Numbers:
  • West Chester outshot their hosts by a wide 28-4 margin and they also held a 16-0 advantage in shots on goal.
  • West Chester also held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks on the match.
  • Bail scored her first goal of the season this afternoon
  • Pittman scored her first career goal while Burns and Zach recorded their first career points.
  • West Chester has seven goals as a team so far this season and they have been scored by seven different players.
