No. 9 West Chester Suffers First Conference Loss to Seton Hill

GREENSBURG, Pa. –  Despite a last-minute effort, No. 9 West Chester fell to host Seton Hill in a low scoring affair, 1-0, this afternoon from Dick's Sporting Goods Field.

Seton Hill (2-0-0, 1-0-0 PSAC) struck first as the Griffins' Madison Schwerzler found teammate Emily LoPresti who beat goalkeeper Brook Myers (1-1) (Middletown, Pa./Middletown) at the 13:48 mark in the first half.

The Griffins held onto a 1-0 lead heading into the half and did their best to hold onto the lead throughout the second half. LoPresti's lone goal was the difference in this one.

The Golden Rams (1-1-0, 1-1-0 PSAC) outshot their opponent by double-digits (17-6) and held a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks. West Chester had its opportunities in the final 45 minutes with a 9-1 edge in shots as well.

Seton Hill's goalkeeper Jessica Neill (2-0) posted five saves in the shutout victory.

This was the first conference loss for the Golden Rams this season.
