West Chester Races Past Dominican College, 4-0

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Three tallies in the first six minutes allowed West Chester (6-2-1) to down visiting Dominican College (1-9) in non-conference action this afternoon, 4-0, inside Rockwell Field.
 
How it Happened
  • Sr., F Giovanni Mowrey (Bethlehem, Pa. / Notre Dame Green Pond) found teammate Brett Miller (Washington Crossing, Pa. / Council Rock North), who found the back of the net at 2:20 for an early 1-0 lead.
  • Off a throw-in, Andrew Slater (Hanover, Pa. / South West) was credited with an assist when Nicholas Meola (Avondale, Pa. / Kennett) made it 2-0 at the 3:47 mark.
  • Sr., M Brett Glasco (West Chester, Pa. / Rustin) provided the final tally of the first half with a beautiful goal at 5:40.
  • The final tally came in the final moments, when Tim French (Bensalem, Pa. / Holy Ghost Prep) registered a goal off of a penalty kick to seal it.
 
Inside the Numbers
  • Sr., GK Matt Palmer (Bangor, Pa. / Bangor) contributed as well, earning his fourth shutout of the season. He managed two saves in 90 minutes of action.
  • West Chester had a 17-5 edge in shots, including a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal.
  • The Golden Rams managed six more corner kicks than their opponent (7-1).

When asked about the quick start: "It was a fantastic start, our best start of the year. It's natural to take your foot off the gas though. That's something we have to get better at. It was a good performance. Mowrey had his best game and Glasco set the tone. We also had the shutout too, that was important."
