WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester University women's soccer (6-2-1, 6-2 PSAC) defeated visiting Edinboro (4-4-2, 3-4-2 PSAC) this afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action, 2-0, inside Rockwell Field.
How it Happened:
- West Chester opened the scoring late in the first half when Shayna MacFarlane (Harrisburg, Pa./Lower Dawphin) became the 10th different Golden Ram to enter the goal column this year. She tallied the first goal of the game, providing a 1-0 advantage.
- Just 50 seconds into the second half, Brittany Reffit (Calvert County, Md./Northern) added a goal of her own to make it 2-0. This was her second goal of the season.
- That was enough for senior goalkeeper McKenna Mullin (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy), who recorded her first win in-between the pipes. She posted two saves in the shutout.
Inside the Numbers:
- Reffit became the first repeat scorer for the Golden Rams in 2017, recording her second tally in the second half.
- Mullin earned her first career win and start this afternoon. She accomplished this in shutout fashion.
- West Chester outshot Edinboro by a 18-7 seven margin, including a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal.
