Top-Ranked West Chester Breezes By Seton Hill, 8-0


WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Katie Thompson (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) registered a hat trick, and both Kaitlin Hatch (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) and Caitlin Kelly (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) added a pair of goals, to lead No. 1 West Chester to an 8-0 win over visiting Seton Hill at windy and blustery Vonnie Gros Field Sunday afternoon.
 
West Chester (12-1, 6-0 PSAC) upped its win streak to 12 straight and kept pace with East Stroudsburg for first place in the league standings. Seton Hill (0-12, 0-5) is still in search of its first win of the season.
 
The Golden Rams raced out to a 5-0 lead by halftime and never looked back. Thompson had her hat trick in the game's first 11 minutes, after scoring the first three goals of the contest. Thompson finished with four points (3G, 1A) on the afternoon while Hatch tallied three (2G, 1A).
 
Emily Evans (Newark, Del./St. Mark's) scored the Golden Rams' final tally of the afternoon.
 
WCU Goalkeeper Marissa Elizardo (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) played the first 54 minutes of the game, but did not have to make a save in registering her 12th win of the season. Freshman GK Kaylie Walker Dietz (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) made one save in her first college appearance.
