LEECHBURG, Pa.- The West Chester University women's soccer team (12-4-1, 11-4-1 PSAC) was back in action Sunday afternoon against Indiana (Pa.) (9-8-1, 7-8-1 PSAC) one day after the contest between these two teams was suspended due to field conditions. West Chester was a team on a mission on Sunday afternoon as the Golden Rams won 4-0 to secure the No. 4 seed in the upcoming PSAC Tournament.
How it Happened:
- In the 27th minute, Pittsburgh native Olivia Muha (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) scored the first goal of the game putting in her own rebound after a header off the post to give West Chester the early 1-0 lead.
- In the 34th minute, Madison Baxter (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) scored her first of two goals on the afternoon on a shot that arced over the goalkeepers head after winning the ball in the midfield.
- Baxter followed this up with another goal in the 55th minute, scoring from outside the box yet again to stretch the lead to 3-0 in favor of the Golden Rams.
- In the 80th minute, Hannah Zach (Bucks County, Pa./Central Bucks East) scored her second goal in as many games putting in her own rebound after the IUP goalie made a great save to stop her initial shot, thus, giving West Chester a commanding 4-0 lead.
Inside the Numbers:
- West Chester ended the game with an 18-11 advantage in shots including a 11-6 advantage in shots on goal. West Chester also ended the contest with a 5-3 advantage in corners.
- McKenna Mullin (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) got the start in goal and she made six saves to keep the explosive IUP offense off the scoreboard.
