WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Three different goal scorers found the back of the cage as newly-appointed No. 1 West Chester shut out visiting Millersville, 3-0, at Vonnie Gros Field on a sun-splashed, beautiful fall afternoon Wednesday.

West Chester (6-1, 1-0 PSAC) opened up conference play in style, controlling much of the tempo of play, en route to its sixth straight victory following a season-opening loss. Millersville (4-3, 0-1) has dropped two of its last three. The Golden Rams defeated Millersville, 2-1, earlier this season on the road in a non-league contest as well.

How it Happened
- Emily Evans (Newark, Del./St. Mark's) tipped a shot by Emma Velez (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) from outside the circle up into the top half of the cage in the 25th minute to give the hosts a 1-0 lead at halftime.
- Kaitlin Hatch (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) beat Millersville's goalkeeper inside the near post in the 58th minute to double the host's lead.
- Caitlin Kelly (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) slapped in a rebound that was waist high from right out in front in the 65th minute for insurance.

- WCU goalkeeper Marissa Elizardo (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) made eight saves in the cage for the shutout. She stopped three consecutive attempts with a pair of kick saves and a blocker save late in the second half to preserve the shutout.

- Freshman Emily Ingalls (Zionville, Pa./Emmaus) picked up her first career point with an assist on Kaitlin Hatch's goal.
