WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University makes its 13th appearance in the NCAA II Playoffs Saturday when it hosts New Haven in a first-round game at John A. Farrell Stadium at 1 p.m. The Golden Rams are the No. 3 seed out of the Super Region 1 while New Haven is the No. 6 seed.
Tickets to the NCAA II First Round Playoff game are $13 and $12 for reserved seating and $10 for general admission. Students, senior citizens and children are $5. West Chester University students with a valid ID will be admitted free of charge. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling the WCU Ticket Office at (610) 436-2266, or online at www.wcupatix.com/wcu-football.
West Chester enters Saturday's NCAA Tournament fresh off its conference championship that the Golden Rams won last weekend in Slippery Rock, Pa. WCU topped SRU, 33-10, in the PSAC Championship Game.
New Haven dropped a 17-13 decision to LIU-Post in the Northeast-10 Championship Game last weekend and finished second in the conference to the Pioneers. The Chargers were stopped on the 1-yard line on the last play of the game in that loss.
West Chester is making its second straight appearance in the postseason while New Haven is making its first since the 2012 campaign. The Golden Rams are a combined 10-12 in their 12 previous trips to the NCAA II Playoffs. New Haven is making its seventh trip to the postseason this fall.Â
