BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The West Chester University men's tennis team kicked off Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play on Saturday afternoon, as the team traveled to the Burt Reese Tennis Center to take on the Huskies from Bloomsburg University.
The Golden Rams managed to get a victory at No. 2 doubles from the team of
Norman Patten (Warminster, Pa. / Council Rock South) and
Aidan Henken (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) but the visitors would only earn one singles point on the day to fall to the host Huskies 7-2 on Saturday.
West Chester drops to 0-9 on the year and 0-1 in conference play following the loss, while Bloomsburg jumps to 4-6 overall and 2-2 in league action with the victory.
Aside from his 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles with Henken, Patten was also responsible for WCU's lone singles point on the day after downing BU's Lucas Pedrotti 6-2,6-1,6-4 in a three-set thriller.
West Chester will travel to Kutztown to play the Golden Bears on Monday (April 2) before returning home for a five-match homestand - starting with a contest against Harford Community College on Thursday (April 5) at 2:30 p.m.
