EASTON, Mass. - West Chester University's field hockey team dropped a season-opening 2-1 decision to host Stonehill College inside W.B. Mason Stadium Saturday afternoon. Stonehill (2-0) scored the first two goals of the game, before the Golden Rams (0-1) got on the scoreboard. However, the visitors could not find the equalizer.

How It Happened
- Stonehill's Kacie Smith opened the scoring with a drive from the right side just inside the arc.
- Teammate Carly Anderson doubled the lead with just four minutes left in the contest.
- However, the Golden Rams were not done. Kaitlin Hatch (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) cut the lead in half with just over one minute to play.
