CAMBRIDGE, Wisc. – West Chester University's football squad made a jump to No. 13 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) poll released Monday afternoon. The Golden Rams had been ranked 18th the previous week.
West Chester (3-0) is fresh off a convincing 59-14 victory on the road over Seton Hill last Saturday afternoon. The Golden Rams appear in the national rankings for the third consecutive week, after not showing in the coaches' poll during the preseason.
West Chester debuted at 22nd two weeks ago, before moving up to No. 18 last week.
No. 2 Minnesota State handed Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.) a 46-13 loss, moving its record to 3-0 on the season and gathered three more first-place votes this week to move closer to the top spot. The Mavericks prepare to face Winona State (Minn.), which just fell out of the Top 25 this week after its loss to Upper Iowa, this coming Saturday.
The Top 5 is still the same this week with Texas A&M-Commerce at No. 1 with 22 first-place votes. Following Minnesota State are Indiana (Pa.), Northwest Missouri State and Grand Valley State (Mich.).
