EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. –
Kaitlin Hatch's blast into the top right corner of the net with 54 seconds remaining in overtime lifted No. 3 West Chester to a 2-1 victory over top-ranked East Stroudsburg on the road Thursday afternoon at Whitenight Field.
West Chester (5-1) picked up its fifth-straight win following a season-opening loss while East Stroudsburg (4-2) saw its three-game win streak come to a close. For the Golden Rams, they registered a win over the No. 1 team in the country for the second time in as many meetings, having defeated then-No. 1 Shippensburg in the semifinals of the 2017 PSAC Tournament, while recording their fifth straight win over a team ranked higher than them in the national polls.

- Kaitlin Hatch (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) notched her fifth goal of the season with 54 seconds left in overtime off an assist from Caitlin Kelly (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan).
- Katie Thompson (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) gave the visitors a 1-0 lead 20 minutes into the contest when she put home a rebound of a shot by Emily Evans (Newark, Del./St. Mark's).
- East Stroudsburg evened things up in the first half with a goal in the 32nd minute.
